CIRCe centre aims primarily at developing and promoting high profile research activities into cement-based materials, with the aim of integrating basic with applied and industrial research.
The main goals of the Centre are:
Carrying out and promoting interdisciplinary studies on specific subjects related to building materials, infrastructures and cultural heritage, with emphasis on collaboration with the industry, research centres and institutions.
Focussing on applied research involving binding materials and their optimization and characterization at the macro and micro scale, with the aim of obtaining scientific results of international relevance.
Promoting the transfer of scientific knowledge in the field of cement-based materials, hydraulic binders, lime, mortars, concrete and similar materials.
The above goals will be met by:
Promoting and coordinating research into cement materials, in agreement with the Departments involved.
Organizing workshops, seminars, conferences on the subject.
Developing national and international partnerships with research centres, universities and other public and private institutions involved in the subject.
Carrying out projects aimed at funding the research performed by the Centre.
Training post-graduates and external individuals .
